About the Metropolitan Council
The Minnesota Legislature established the Metropolitan Council in 1967 to coordinate planning and development within the Twin Cities metropolitan area and to address issues that could not be adequately addressed with existing governmental arrangements. • engages communities and the public in planning for future growth
• provides forecasts of the region’s population and household growth
• provides affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals and families
• provides planning, acquisitions and funding for a regional system of parks and trails
• provides a framework for decisions and implementation for regional systems including aviation, transportation, parks and open space, water quality and water management.

Learn.com Announces New Competitive Upgrade Program After Switching an Industry Leading 50 Clients From Competing Solutions in 2009

Fourth consecutive “Best LMS” award validates Learn.com’s leadership in client satisfaction. Now an unprecedented number of organizations chose to avoid the hassles, costs and embarrassment of having to switch vendors later by selecting Learn.com first.

SUNRISE, FLORIDA January 11, 2010Learn.com®, the knowledge platform company, announced a 2010 Competitive Upgrade Program to address the obvious need validated by the increasing number of new clients that have switched to Learn.com in 2009 from a competing product. Learn.com’s Competitive Upgrade Program is designed to defray the initial costs associated with switching platforms. Learn.com has converted over 150 organizations from competing solutions and these companies have experienced an increase in their business impact, ROI, and employee engagement while reducing their total cost of ownership. No other vendor cares more about their clients’ success than Learn.com.

“We switched to Learn.com because the system provides us with a number of features and elegance that we did not have with our previous learning management system (LMS). We predict that we will gain 30-40% efficiency by reducing administrative tasks,” said Ann Robatin, PhD, Training Manager at Sales Industrial Products.

“Our client wanted to switch from their current LMS to a more flexible and fully supported solution. We’ve found that Learn.com goes far beyond LMS/LCMS technology and allows us to create a tailored learning portal with the look and feel that is 100% configurable by us. We estimated the configurability portion alone saved us almost $50,000 in Statement of Work fees and put the power in our hands,” said Christopher Beasley, Chief Operating Officer at Advanced Presentations.

“We switched from our current system, because we outgrew its functional capacity,” said Jana Muma, Vice President of Learning and Development at Gables Residential.

“Since switching to Learn.com from our previous provider, we have had success with our platform and our partnership with Learn.com. One of our most significant projects is the online certification to our company Code of Conduct in 14 languages,” said Joe Mascavage, Manager of Education for Cytec Industries.

“We switched to the Learn.com because it provides us with the ability to offer blended training, including instructor led training (ILT), e-learning and virtual ILT,” said Karen Geldhof, Learning Technology Manager at California Casualty.

Learn.com was also honored as a leader in 7 out of 8 categories in a recent Enterprise Talent Management Satisfaction study conducted by Bersin & Associates. One category was total satisfaction in Implementation. Since all of Learn.com’s clients run the same version of the highly configurable platform, our implementation methodology has been honed razor sharp to cut down the time of implementation, leverage relevant best practices and re-use all of the lessons learned for each new implementation. These switched clients knew why their implementations failed and they knew exactly what they wanted and what they didn’t want.

“Training and HR professionals that have been less than satisfied in the past with a vendor incontrovertibly know what they must have in their new platform to fill their conspicuous gaps and what questions they need to have answered before switching to another vendor,” said JW Ray, Chief Operating Officer at Learn.com. Clients who have switched to Learn.com to solve real challenges they had with inadequate vendors realize we build partnerships with our clients for long term success, show demonstrable ROI and have a proven and industry recognized unparalleled flexibility which offers the lowest overall cost of ownership. Our first goal at Learn.com is Client Success.”

Make the switch today and get $9,500 towards the best LMS click here.

Under the terms of the Competitive Upgrade Program, the customers of any commercial Learn.com competitor can switch to Learn.com and receive a $9,500 credit towards Learn.com Professional Services including: data migration for existing or historical data, data conversion, user navigation design, implementation, deployment services and more.

This offer is good through June 30, 2010. The $9,500 credit may not exceed 50% of the value of the new LearnCenter partnership. Other terms and conditions may apply. Contact Learn.com for details, click here.

About Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc., has been providing services since 1919. Since 1972, selected Goodwill programs and services have been accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin is the largest of 183 autonomous Goodwills and affiliates worldwide. More than 4,000 Goodwill employees work in over 49 locations throughout 23 counties in southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago. Goodwill provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence.

As a non-profit organization, Goodwill appreciates the continued support of government funding sources, local and national foundations, and corporate and individual donors. Equally important, however, are Goodwill’s own initiatives, which help us remain a self-sustaining organization. A vital evaluation of any non-profit is how revenue is used: at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, 92 cents of every dollar we receive is reinvested in mission-related programs and services.
