IDmachines and Probayes join forces to bring powerful predictive analytics to the United States’ enterprise security and information technology markets.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookline, MA USA, 27  February 2010.
Probayes Technologies (Grenoble, France) has joined with IDmachines LLC (Brookline, MA, USA) to bring its security and productivity solutions based on Bayesian modeling, inference and learning to the United States marketplace. Probayes Keystroke Dynamics, Fraud Detection and Operational Risk Management products provide strong authentication and security in depth in addition to powerful predictive analytics. These end-user applications are supported and complemented by a Software Development Kit (SDK) and Bayesian modeling toolkit to speed use of knowledge development for security and a wide range of applications across disciplines.

Today’s security solutions need to address a dynamic and wide ranging array of threats. Even better it would predict them. Probayes and IDmachines find that products such as keystroke dynamics and fraud/incident detection are a natural complement to other strong authentication techniques. The two companies bring decades of experience with security and machine learning to its end-user, integrator and original equipment manufacturer partners. The end-user products are targeted at large scale infrastructure and enterprises. IDmachines brings a particular expertise with organizations that look to leverage the Personal Identity Verification Interoperability (PIV-I) such as Federal, State and local government as well as financial services and other critical infrastructure sectors.
Probayes products are currently used by leading European Union financial institutions and Global 100 organizations. Emmanuel Mazer, CEO of Probayes, stated “Knowing Sal D’Agostino for a long time, I am very proud to work with his company. By partnering with IDmachines, I am sure our US customers will benefit from their high level of commitment and recognized security expertise. This will ensure the successful deployment of our products, and a quick return on customer investment.”
“IDmachines is very excited at the opportunity to work with Emmanuel Mazer and his team at Probayes. Having worked with Emmanuel over the last 3 decades one can only be amazed at the timeliness and elegance of the important innovations he has brought to market in machine learning. The ability of organizations and their networks to deploy security in depth and for the network to learn provides tremendous potential for enterprise security and improved delivery of goods and services to its customers. Keystroke dynamics and fraud detection are only the first examples of how Probayes and its partners and customers will leverage the tools of probability.”

The ability to identify anomalies goes to the heart of most security solutions. Probayes solutions provide an ability to include new and broader information into analysis engines that can identity and predict these anomalies. Cyber security that combines strong authentication techniques with security in depth improves security measures and enables global transactions and access. The demand for enhanced cyber security solutions includes the need to access cloud computing services and is particularly true in the current environment of widespread attempts at fraud.
“It’s important that these security and learning tools get put to work in building 21st century networks and products” commented Mr. D’Agostino.

Kapsys, a specialist in portable GPS devices, has launched the Kapten  for iPhone application, a comprehensive navigation application for use with the iPhone, and Kapten NG, the smallest pocket-size multi-transport GPS device on the market.

Following the successful launch of Kapten, the first voice-controlled GPS for use in cities, Kapsys is extending its range of GPS products with its Kapten for iPhone application and its portable Kapten NG. Thanks to this new range of products, Kapsys is extending its multi-transport GPS product offer, helping users find their way around cities whether on foot, or by public transport, car, bicycle or motorcycle. Kapsys’s products offer extensive coverage of North America, as well as Western Europe.

For the first time on the market, Kapsys is offering an iPhone navigation application at a highly competitive price. Since such an application is not necessarily required every day, Kapten for iPhone is available on the basis of a monthly subscription rate at $7.99 for unlimited use over a 30-day period, which can be renewed at will. Kapten for iPhone also offers the option of transferring to a permanent license via the in-application purchase mechanism, for $74.99.

Kapsys has also launched the innovative Kapten NG, the smallest pocket-size multi-transport GPS device on the market. Because of its compact size (H100 mm x L55 mm x W13 mm) and weight (90 g), the Kapten NG can be carried inside the user’s pocket. Its multi-transport functionality is suitable for navigation on foot, with or without the use of public transport, as well as driving or cycling.

The Kapten for iPhone application is on sale as of today through Apple’s online iTunes App Store. Two versions are available: one for the United States/Canada and one for Western Europe. These applications will turn any 3G or 3GS iPhone into a true multi-transport navigator, usable in a multitude of geographic areas.

The main functionalities offered by this application include multi-transport navigation, unique coverage of public transport (underground, suburban trains and trams), genuine voice guidance and extensive visual displays, and “Ktag” creation for tagging and sharing favorite locations.

The Kapten for iPhone North America application includes a map of the U.S. and Canada. It costs $7.99 for a monthly subscription and $74.99 for a permanent license.

The Kapten for iPhone Western Europe application covers 22 countries and territories – Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Vatican. It costs $7.99 for a renewable monthly subscription and $74.99 for a permanent license.

Kapten NG offers the following functionalities: multi-transport navigation in a pocket-size format, unique coverage of public transport (underground, suburban trains and trams), which can be used with pedestrian navigation, genuine voice guidance and extensive visual displays, and Ktag creation to record favorite locations. Kapten NG has been available as of February 2010. Kapten NG North America includes a map of the USA and Canada and retails at $224.90.

The cartography behind these applications has been developed by TeleAtlas. The Kapten for iPhone application, as well as Kapten NG and Kapten models, are available for testing by members of the press.

Kapsys attended the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, from February 15 to 18, 2010 (Hall 2F49, France Pavilion); and will exhibit at CeBit in Hanover, Germany, from March 2 to 6, 2010 (Hall 7A10, France Pavilion).

Opera new apps for iPhone

The Opera browser was born back in 1994, was always one of the ten most used browser, but despite some great technical qualities, shown in browsing speed, execution of JavaScript code, it never caught on among internet users .

That has not happened but for the mobile version, especially for the final exit 10 or Opera Mobile.

Indeed, in this case, users have much appreciated the efforts of Norwegian house, which led to a cross-platform browser, it runs on Windows Mobile and Symbian, but above all very fast with very good usability.

From the news from Opera Software, the browser will be submitted directly as a stable supply of navigation and will have much higher default browser of the iPhone or Safari, talking about a speed increase of 6 times that of Safari.

Definitely good news for anyone using iPhone, since the consumption the results that Opera Mini has given in recent months on all smartphones and PDAs.

New trend on the iPhone: the augmented reality

The increasing prevalence of the iPhone in the world market, led him to be also the center of attention by developers.

One of the latest technologies brings iPhone is that of augmented reality.

Indeed over recent months it has been possible to observe the first apps for iPhone, which yield the augmented reality.

One example is a game named 1000 Find’em All, is an adventure game that combines both style RPG to the platform.

The great difference, is that movements that are performed within the game have been those made by the user of the iPhone.

The movements are played within the game, acquiring travel through the data obtained from the GPS contained within the iPhone.

The goal of the game is to find these thousand gift boxes, and being an online game, it may happen that during our play sessions will meet other players in search of gift packages.

In addition to games that use augmented reality, is a few weeks ago the release of apps for iPhone that takes advantage of this integrated system to Twitter.

The application allows you to see quickly and easily via the geotagging feature of the exact location where they were sent tweets, this application is called Twitter 360 and is available for purchase through the Apple Store to 3.99 euros.

Voip calls on iPhone locked

These days it expected the new version of Skype app for iPhone, which was swift, in fact was released on January 15.

Lot of fans, waiting for the substantial changes to the software, with the addition of two important features.

The first was the ability to have push notifications or messages in real time even when the application is in the background.

The second, perhaps more important, that you can make VoIP calls using the 3G network.

Unfortunately neither of these changes has been made, and the answers can be found in the official blog of the Skype site.

Push notifications have been developed by programmers, who are testing the feature, so hopefully that will be released during an upcoming software updates.

The speech is very different for the functionality of VoIP calls leaning on the 3G network, as explained in the blog, this is a feature directly from the locked house in Cupertino, which allows the development of applications with this feature.

Two important features that the iPhone people are waiting for some time, it is hoped that the first arriving in the near future, as it is being tested, while the latter will certainly be more difficult to obtain.
